23 Spatial Platform Companies

The public version of the Biobase is now at >5000 companies. Part of the purpose of this work is to help me surface companies I was previously unaware of.

So I decided to mine the database for spatial platform companies and came up with 23 companies, including a few I was previously unaware of.

Approaches offered by companies broadly break down as follows:

Most companies are offering an antibody/immunofluorescence based approaches. This can be slightly more interesting than just regular immunostaining (adding multiplexing) but I think is somewhat less interesting than more recent spatial approaches.

Removing the antibody-only companies we get:

Which is a near 50/50 split between companies offering transcript probes or transcript sequencing (with a couple of weird outliers). I personally fine the sequencing based approaches a little more exciting, but my guess is transcript sequencing isn’t the bulk of the current market.
