Yesterday after quite some time I was talking to someone about metagenomic sequencing for infectious disease testing. This of course brought the mind Reticula and had me search for some of the old decks…
After far too long digging through a pile of old laptops I finally found them. I figured the best way of avoid losing them again is to just… stick them on the Internet. So here’s a share containing all the Reticula decks I could find (including the original Keynote files). Anyone working in this area is free to grab bits and pieces they might find useful:
There’s even the original YC pitch video in there! Which might be good for a laugh if nothing else.
The final Reticula patent is still available if someone wants it. You can see the others too if they are of interest.
In terms of meta-genomic testing… I kind of ended up of the opinion that a cheap meta-genomic sequencing based infectious disease test would be of huge societal benefit, is technically feasible and would make society robust against the effects of potential future pandemics. But there’s massive market risk in driving adoption.
Certainly too much risk for most investors.
As always ping me if you’d like to chat about this stuff (new@sgenomics.org) or on the Discord.
Hey Nava, that's super interesting. But when I clicked on the "ALL RETICULA DECKS" link, I only get a 1min10sec video pitch for ACSeq, no slides. Did I miss something?
