Connecting Biotech Investors And Seed Stage Startups
About once or twice a month a seed stage startup reaches out for a chat. They’re usually early stage, they’ve incorporated have some early IP but not yet funded.
I generally review their deck, make some comments, and then email the deck to a few folks along with a brief opinion.
This is always awkward. Does the investor want inbound pitches? Are there people I’m forgetting?
I figured, perhaps a more sustainable way to do this is to create a mailing list. So here it is:
If you’re interested in hearing about seed stage biotech startups that I’ve somewhat pre-vetted sign up above. If you do sign up, and I don’t know you already expect a brief email from me just to find out a bit more about you and your fund. Angels also welcome.
Here’s what I’m thinking currently:
None of the pitches/decks will be posted publicly.
Pitches will be pre-vetted by me.
Company needs to be incorporated
IP is involved at least a provisional should have been filed.
I need to at least think this isn’t an awful idea.
I’ll be briefly reviewing the deck. My public thoughts will only be about things I liked. I won’t mention anything I didn’t like.
Investors will also be pre-vetted to be best of my ability.
Ideally I’ll have heard of your fund, and know you do seed stage.
If you’re an Angel hopefully I’ll know someone you’ve funded.
Investors are welcome to reach out to me for a more detailed opinion.
If you’re a seed stage startup and fit the above criteria please feel free to send me some info ideally with a deck/whitepaper (new@sgenomics.org or reach out on Discord: NavaWhiteford/new299).
