DxCover have been around for a while (~9 years). Their wikipedia page says they have raised 10M GBP.

The “DxCover PANAROMIC Platform” is a spectral detection platform. Which “uses artificial intelligence algorithms for early detection of cancers and other diseases”.

From what I can tell this is a unit that drops into a PerkinElmer Spectrum Two N FT-NIR Spectrometer1. The basic idea seems to be that you take a IR spectra of blood samples dried on a slide:

And generate a spectral fingerprint:

That’s great as it goes. But the hard part comes with…and then a machine learning algorithm let’s you use this for early stage cancer detection.

As far as I’m concerned you might as well say the diagnostic is magic and works by shining mystical light on blood.

So let’s go look at some papers.
