First thoughts on PacBio and Omniome

PacBio appear to be set to acquire Omniome for $600 million with an additional $200 million in milestone payments. Similar to Illumina’s proposed acquisition of PacBio, the idea is that PacBio will be able to provide low error rate short reads at high throughput, along side their existing higher error rate long reads at low throughput.
