Pacific Bioscience's Onso Uses Patterned Flowcells?
I have a few questions about the Onso, Pacific Bioscience’s new short read sequencer to be launched in H1 2023... that is… within the next 3 days.
But I can’t find much in the way of public information… in particular answers to the following two key questions elude me:
What amplification technology does the Onso use?
Does the Onso use patterned flow cells?
The only statement from PacBio I can find, suggests that the Onso uses an external “cluster generator”. The term “cluster” does suggest to me bridge amplification, but they could potentially be using it to refer to RCA (rolling circle amplification, used in MGI and other instruments):
