Sequencing ends up really complicated for this model - there’s all the fine details on sequencing methods, the problems of batching, the risk that a bad library can poison a run, leakage of reads, MTAs, etc
This is true, but I suspect you can find some subset of sequencers-user cases-samples which might work. After all we do essentially this for consumer human-genome sequencing etc.
So, it could in part just be an API on Nebula's service.
The bigger issue is "is there a market for this". That I'm not so clear on. But I think it would be fun to try (and I want to use it).
Meenta tried to create such a service - though they used Uber as the metaphor - but I think shut down around 2022-3
