I’ve previously looked at the NextSeq 550 optical system in some detail. It’s impressive in part because it’s built around such low cost components ($30 LEDs, and image sensors). The LEDs appear to come from Luminus, and some documentation suggests they are 521 and 650nm.

Anyway, I figured I should just try things out for myself, as a prelude to playing around a bit more with these modules. Datasheets suggest the following pinout:

It seemed like it should be possible to drive both at ~3V/200mA. So I ringed these up with a lab supply and measured the output using an old spectrometer. I also took measurements at the objective with the emission going through the NextSeq 550 optical system:
